If I had money I could buy a hat and go out.
This quote relates to the question that says what hard ships do the character endure as they make a new life. The reason why it relates to that question is because it shows that the main character does not have a lot of money and it is hard to get money for him. I think he is doing a good job right now because he is trying to get money so he could have the good life. I don't really like the priest because he is wired.
Do you think that the main character will get a lot of money towards the end of the book?
Quote: page: 50
New york was the city of my dreams but now I'm here the dreams are gone and its not what i expected at all.
This quote relates to the question how do the character maintain their culture ties to their homeland while living in America. The reason why it relates to that question is because he thought New York city would be the life nothing to worry about but now he knows his wrong. I think he should have face reality that America isn't like in the movies its hard to start a new life any were. So I think he should have thought about that first.
Do you think things are going to get better for him or worse?

Quote #1: This quote does tell you what hardships, poor people in America have to go through. Frank is doing a good job right now because he has a steady job, so far.
Question #1: I think that if Frank stays with the job through the entire book, then he will not become rich. Frank's job right now, is not that great. He doesn't get paid a lot.
Quote #2: I knew he was going to say that! Everyone who comes to this country thinks that everything will be so easy, but it's not. You have to fight for what you want. This principle started when America was first becoming a country; John Smith told the lazy settlers "if you don't work, then you don't eat."
Question #2: I think that if he progresses and maybe goes to a good school, then things will get better because he will have experience. Although, many people are racist towards Irish people.
Response to qoute #1: My response to this quote was I would have to agree with the quote. It shows a lot about the character that he doesn't have money but if he did he would buy a hat to keep warm because it is cold in New York, and he would probably get out and get a job or something insteed of staying at home or something.
I do think that character will get richer tords the end.
Quote #2: This quote basicly explains everything. It is the quote that I have expecting to see, and I new that it would happened to him.
